Every year has been a learning curve for me with regards to running the BMAT Course. In the end, I learned that It's all about design. If the design is good then appreciation, respect, reputation automatically follow. This year it was my goal to not only recruit the most inspiring tutors, but also to guide and train them in such a way that they undergo the greatest development with their teaching skills.
TODAY, we trained two new tutors. As part of the recruitment process, our tutors had to create revision sheets on various BMAT section 2 topics. I was indirectly testing their time management too. All who submitted it within the deadline passed round 1.
Next, we did an icebreaker session whereby I tested their interactions with each other, whilst getting them to connect to one another. Today, the passionate survivors got to teach, observe and learn from Anna-Baukje; our oldest BMAT Course tutor. There's nothing as valuable as sharing experience. Feedback forms were collected at the end of the course and these will be discussed in detail with all the team members so that we can learn from our mistakes and develop the #KanDoMed Bmat Courses.
I am grateful to my excellent tutors, I am grateful to our students and I am grateful to you for wanting to read my piece. If you are reading this and you are touched by the work we do, send us a message and we can have a chat about you joining and strengthening our team!
Alternatively spread the word that students can apply to our courses via: www.bmatcrashcourses.eventbrite.nl
